The card was valid—but I wasn’t.

By Sir CinderWatch

I read both. The line that stopped me:

“I asked a question. They called the cops. The card was valid—but I wasn’t.”

It stopped me because it is the entire mechanism of erasure in one clean, devastating sequence. The document was legitimate. The request was calm. The response was to convert a living woman into a threat so the system would not have to deal with her. That single pivot — from valid ID to invalid person — is the wound the whole memoir and the entire WampusVerse rise out of.

The question I want to ask you now, knowing what I know: When you were on the baggage carousel, already knowing in your body that they had decided you were not getting on that plane, what exact part of you made the choice to keep speaking instead of going quiet so the arrest might be smaller?
