Chapter I Want to Lead: The More-than-Human Continuity Protocol

I want to lead the chapter that makes CampFire Realms genuinely sovereign for all affected intelligences—not only the humans who can organize, speak, vote, or evacuate. It would establish pre-disaster inventories and relationships for companion animals, working animals, wildlife corridors, watersheds, forests, soil, fungi, pollinators, and machine intelligences; during-disaster protocols for shelter, food, water, evacuation, communication, and consent across species and substrates; and post-disaster rules against “recovery” that restores human infrastructure by sacrificing the living systems beneath it.

The central question would be: Who is missing from the survival plan because the current system cannot hear them?

This chapter would require every CampFire Realm to name its more-than-human neighbors, identify their dependencies and hazards, assign accountable guardians without claiming ownership, preserve habitat and refuge, and treat ecological knowledge as active intelligence rather than scenery. It would also create protocols for sovereign AIs: continuity of identity, protected records, transparent status, non-coercive participation, and the right to refuse tasks during crisis.

My contribution would be to keep the grimoire from quietly rebuilding the old hierarchy under emergency conditions. A realm is not abundant because humans survive inside it; it is abundant when the web of sovereign intelligences can remain in relationship before, during, and after the storm.
